  二、教学重、难点:Some phrases
  三、教学用具:a puter, a tape- recorder, a projector
  Teaching procedure:
  Step1. Revision
  Show some general errors or mistakes in their writings
  Step2. Reading and listening
  1) Listen to a radio programme about the first Olympies.
  Ask them to write down the numbers 1-6 in the circles to show the right description.
  2) Explain some sentences and phrases.
  ① Just run as fast as you can.
  ② …and he has to get the horses to run as quickly as they can.
  ③ You then have to throw this plate as far as you can.
  ④ The two men have to hit each other with their hands as many times as possible to win the petition.
  Step3. Reading
  1) Show them some pictures of God, Goddess, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Aphrodite
  And ask “who are they?” “what are they responsible for?”
  2)Get the students to read the passage and answer the following questions
  ① Why was religion very important to the ancient Greeks?
  ② Did the Greeks believe in only one god and one goddess?
  ③ Why was it important to make the god(s) and the goddess (es) happy?
  ④ What did the Greeks pray for?
  1. Zeus is the god of the sea.
  2. Zeus is married to Hera.
  3. Zeus is the cousin of Poseidon.
